Bringing People Closer One Game At A Time
Abbanuach’s mission is to help people have more fun together, whether with family or friends, and we’re starting that mission with our flagship game, Deck The Halls.
Designed With Connection in Mind
The Perfect Game For
Holiday celebrations, large and small, are fun to host–and to attend. Deck the Halls takes the pressure off hosting to focus on playing.
At last, a compelling reason to work with your family instead of against them! Deck The Halls challenges players to beat the game by getting the house “decked” before Christmas
.
Unlike the movies, Deck The Halls, which works surprisingly well with two people, is said to improve communication, eye contact, and chemistry.
Instead of the usual dinner conversations, Deck The Hall’s Will have you, your friends, and family LOL-ing the night away as you build more meaningful connections!

When we say it’s for ages 10+, we mean it! During play testing, various people from ages 7 (with assistance) up to 60 genuinely enjoyed playing it, and since you’re working as a team against the game nobody feels excluded or out-paced by the other players. The game is best played with a variety of ages – it may be a little tough for a group of 10-12 year olds to win without some adult help the first time.
Younger kids (we’re talking 7-9 years old) have a tough time with the strategy and attention span for this game. However, we’ve had kids as young as 7 enjoy participating by rolling the dice, moving the pieces, etc. And the best part is, since it’s a cooperative game these kids can play their own character without consequence! If they (or anyone) leave the game, you can simply play their character for them or just take them out of the game and keep going.

Yes, to make it easier just don’t start advancing the clock until the first player’s second turn (i.e. each player’s first turn will not advance the clock token). To make it harder, simply start the clock 2-6 hours advanced. You could also remove some of the decorations from the game before starting play.
It’s a bit of a complicated game mechanic, but we have a pretty good outline on pages 6-7 of the instruction book. But long story short, you need to 1) drop everything you are carrying into the drop box of the location you are at, 2) “deck” ALL of the decorations of ONE type from the drop box to the colored circle(s) as a single action. You have to follow the decking order shown on the game board, and you need to have all the decorations of the type you are trying “deck” present at that location before you can “deck” them.
Sometimes you will draw a distraction card which instructs you to “drop whatever you are carrying…”. If this happens while you are at one of these locations, the drop boxes exist just so you can follow this instruction. Remember – these decorations still need to be cleaned up in order to win the game!
If you roll a “wild” symbol (the box with a question mark over it), simply choose one decoration of your choice from the supply and add it to box #1. You must add a decoration (i.e. you can’t elect to add no decoration), and it must be from a pile that still has supplies in it (i.e. you can’t take decorations from the trash).
If you roll a decoration from a supply pile that has run out, simply ignore that die for that roll. This means you will put less than 5 decorations into box #1 on that turn.
